GMC has announced that the 2021 GMC Canyon will offer an AT4 variant, providing buyers with a smaller alternative to the Sierra AT4. The off-road AT4 build is also expected to come to the Yukon and Terrain SUVs, but for now, it has only been announced on the Canyon small pickup truck.
GM announced the Canyon AT4 in a unique display in August, loading it into a trailer and then revealing it through the Transparent Trailer View system of the truck it was trailered to, showing off the innovative tech and the new model at the same time.
The AT4 trim will replace the All-Terrain trim GMC currently offers on the Canyon, giving the truck even better off-roading capabilities. On the Sierra, the AT4 lifts the suspension two inches higher than the standard Sierra for better ground clearance and comes with four-wheel drive, as well as off-road shocks, skid plates, Hill Descent Control, and more. We can expect to see these on the Canyon AT4, too.
Little is known about the Canyon AT4 otherwise, especially since we didn’t get a good look at its appearance when it was revealed. However, we can look forward to unique styling clues and impressive specs when more details are revealed.
